HERMANN REINER ELECTED PRESIDENT OF

THE CHEFS DE CUISINE ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA, INC.

 

New York, January 11th, 2017 - After four successful years of presidency of Chefs de Cuisine Association of America, Mr. Arlindo Fernandez is passing the Chef’s Hat to the organization’s newly elected president, Mr. Hermann Reiner. During Arlindo’s stewardship the Chefs de Cuisine Association celebrated the 100th Anniversary with a most successful Gala Dinner Dance. Hermann Reiner has a committed his life for the restaurant and hotel industry. A native of Austria, Reiner had a 22 year career of progressive advancement with Hilton International Hotels, with HI properties in Düsseldorf, Caracas, London, Tehran, and Vienna before moving to New York.

 

He also worked for more than 13 years with Inhilco Inc., a subsidiary of Hilton International as Executive Chef for the former world-renowned restaurants of “Windows on the World”, and as Director of Operation for all 12 restaurants at the former World Trade Center. Additionally, Hermann Reiner was Food and Beverage Director for the Shanghai Hilton, Area Food and Beverage Director of Hilton for the New German States, and Corporate Food and Beverage Director for Medallions Hotel in the USA and for Hampshire Hotels based in New York City. Hermann Reiner is the co-author for the food part of the “Wine and Food Book of Windows on the World”, published in 1986 by Sterling, for the 10th Anniversary of the famous restaurant.

 

Hermann Reiner has won numerous awards in his extensive culinary career, including gold medals in 1976, at the Internationale Kochkunstaustellung – IKA in Frankfurt,  Germany, in 1977 at the Wiener Internationale Kochkunstaustellung, Vienna, Austria and at the Salon Culinaire Mundial, Basel, Switzerland, and First Place in 1982 at the Annual Salon of Culinary Arts, NYC.

 

In 1984, the Restaurant, “Cellar in the Sky of Windows on the World,” won the Gault Millau Award with 18 points, while Reiner was Executive Chef. In 1988, Reiner was the recipient of the Golden Roulette Ball Award presented by Gault Millau and Casino Austria, recognizing Austrian nationals in the hospitality industry world wide. Reiner is an active member of the Food and Beverage Association of America, the Chef's Association of America, For the last 15 years, Reiner has been the proprietor of VISTA-Hospitality International, LLC, an international executive search and recruitment company for the hospitality industry placing top talent and executives worldwide.

 

Reiner lives in Manhattan, is married to Lucille Reiner and they enjoy great food and travelling. One of Reiner’s goals for the Chefs de Cuisine Association of America is to bring the association into the 21st Century, using modern social media to connect with chefs and culinarians locally, statewide, countrywide and world-wide.
